It is rather easy Bill. Or at least it should be. Gordon, bellemare, read, coots, G can all handle pk duties. Goodbye vdv

I just don't get what those last 2 lines have to do with anything.

Right, now, the Flyers are 1-0-1 with the OT loss coming on the road, second half of back-to-backs, with the puck dropping 2 hours earlier than it did the night before. The win would obviously be nicer, but I'll take 1-0-1 right now all day.

I am not going to get upset about it, I just think it sucks they lost because they shouldn't have. I will take 75% of the points all season. I am sure there will be a few games they get points when they shouldn't to even it out.

Probably. Granted, if they lost the game at home mid-season with at least a full day off, I'd be more upset. But given the circumstances and some iffy to downright incorrect calls, I'm good.

It's a shame no one else can kill penalties on this team other than VDV. I feel like they should have signed someone to kill penalties and take those all important defensive zone faceoffs.

Congrats on the book, Bill

I also think there is an assumption that Arizona sucks. I dont think they are a complete team like LA is, but I believe they have a lot more offensive firepower. A couple mistakes defensively and it gives the Coyotes great chances. They have the skill to bury those opportunities.

I barely noticed Domi, Duclair, and Strome (lol)

I'm more meh on Weise. I'm sure he'll get him goals because they'll put him in position to score. I don't like the term of his deal though.

I was more talking about Gordon, but now I see he played a lot more on the PK against the Coyotes than Couturier and Read.

Just not sure why the four PKers can't be Gordon, PEB, Read and Couturier. Their bottom 6 hasn't been good at even strength

I think they have some good weapons, but I think the Flyers are a better team. After a shaky first, I feel like the Flyers were the better team. The turnover by Ghost (which was really, really bad) aside, they seemed to be getting a lot more of the good chances during the last 2 periods.

I wasnt a fan of the pinch the Schultz made to lay the hit at the ARI blueline on the 2nd goal either. They were absolutely the better team

I would like to see Lyubimov play. Seems a shame to just carry him around like $925,000 worth of baggage. The PK units could be:

Bellemare-Read
Gordon-Lyubimov
Couturier-Simmonds

I wasn't either. And say what you will about Matt Read's play offensively, but you don't follow the man behind the net and leave the front wide open. If the player can score from behind the net, that's on the goalie. Granted, it was a total breakdown on multiple fronts, but rule #1 is do not follow the man behind the net if there's a player in front of it.

When spring rolls around, I don't expect the bottom 6 to be nearly the same. It would be fantastic if Read is close to this production for the year.

As a whole, they have been controlling 5 v 5 play, which is extremely encouraging. I still expect Morin at some point and possibly leier. I really want to see one more forward with some real speed added to the bottom 6.

Can't wait for the new book, thanks for the update Bill!!

I'm also hoping that VDV is the healthy scratch when Schenn returns, they have enough other guys that can kill penalties, however, I have a sad, sneaking suspicion that the scratch will be Cousins and that Lyubimov will be sent down so that they can call up a 7th Dman.

Lyubimov or Leier could fill that role.
